Rona Flyer Edmonton "big box" stores

In the 1990s, under the competitive pressure from Home Depot and other big box retailers, established the Rona Rona Home & Garden.

Rona Home & Garden stores are large, in the range of 85,000 to 150,000 square feet (14,000 m2), with a warehouse style similar to The Home Depot and Lowe. Given the chronic power in some markets outside Québec, Rona closed six large boxes in 2012, five in Ontario and one in British Columbia.

  1. 2002 - Rona exclude a public offering of a total of $ 150.1 million offering of common shares. Rona shares are then traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol "RON".
  2. 2003 - Rona acquires Réno-Dépôt Inc. of British Kingfisher plc, including construction of box stores. Rona opens its third major distribution center in Calgary, Alberta.
  3. 2004 - Rona acquired Totem Building Supplies Limited, an Alberta company. Rona Dream Home airs on Global. Rona also joined the AIR MILES Reward Program. Rona in Quebec
  4. 2005 - Rona Dream Home 2 Global air.
  5. 2006 - Rona Home Centre acquires Stephens / Château Inc., Sydney Ns
  6. 2006 - Rona acquires majority stake (51%) in Matériaux Coupal Inc.
  7. 2006 - Rona Building Supplies acquiring Curtis Lumber
  8. 2006 - Rona acquires St. Johns, NL-based Chester Dawe Limited
  9. 2007 - Rona Acquires Dick Burnaby BC Lumber
  10. 2007 - Rona acquires Concord, ON based Noble Trade
  11. 2010 - Rona acquires Pierceys, headquartered in Nova Scotia and noble trade, Payette & Perreault based Boucherville, QC and Don Park Canada and TruServ
